I haven't tried out a TC33, have a TC29. Same tractor, bigger engine on the TC33.My TC29 is great, has plenty of power, and I haven't found anything yet that Icouldn't do with it. I choose the Boomer over the JD and 'Botas because of theoverall physical size. It'll maneuver in tighter places than the equivalent HP modelin the other brands. ....

Thanks Farminlady. I've read Yours& Tex's posts re.TC29. Seems like a good unit, better than a1725,huh. I don't mean to make light of your trouble with previous tractor, that's why i want to get as much info possible before spending 18-20k. Just bought 37 ac., 1/2 cleared, 1/2 pine, need compact to mow,dig holes for cross fences, till 2/ac. garden etc. Don't want too small a tractor, nor waste $ on 1 too large. Even though tractor will have warranty(I hear NH is longer, better?) its just a hassle to take back to dealer 30 mi. away. Hopefully with good maint.,luck, prayer etc. Itt'l last 20-30yr.sStill need to hear from JD 790 owners(maybe too new) or 770 on likes, dislikes. dDoes anyone out there know of pto. stump grinder. Much thanks again.(wildcard) ....

Scaper, thanks for E. I'm in se.tx. So far quotes I've been given seem alot higher than e.coast. I know dealer makes a big difference. Customer(such as yourslf)makes a difference, too. Wish I could find a dealer as interested in 1 small buyer,as one with a co. that might be making many transactions, new tractors, implements, parts, services etc. You have bargaining power. When I really get down to the "dirt", guess I'll turn up the pto on dealer for best price. Thanks again. Keep posting. (wildcard) ....

I have had a JD 770 for 3 years,i have a 72 in. finishing mower a 4 ft box blade a 52 in rotary tiller also my dad in law has a golf course i take my tractor down there & i pull a 15 ft reel mower in 3rd gear on the high side,on the hills its not near as good a mfwd put it does a great job for what i need it for. There is a kubota 2350 at the golf course it handles & rides nothing like my Deere, brother has a cub cadet 2350 it rides better than the kubota but it still not a good as a Deere. I would strongley recommend the JD 790 over the kubota, one reason is if you decide to trade or sale the JD will keep it value much better than the other tractors ....

Steve, thanks for input. Was leaning to 790 already. Found out can't get tc33 w/gear trans AND live pto. With all various jobs to do,seems like 2 stage clutch-live pto would be better.Have to give up 3hp&350 lbs. wt. Couldn't believe looking at both tractors& then stats.that TC would outweigh JD. optical illusion or I'm looking at wrong stats. implements seem less $ for JD &as well or better built than NH. now just gotta haggle(worst part of any buying experience, for me) on pkg. price. Thanks everyone for info. Webmaster-great site, very helpful, easy to use,for this klutz. ....

Whoa, wait a minute. Why should you have to take the tractor to the dealer if youneed service? Damned if I'd ever go through that trouble. My dealer sends a serviceman to me. Most dealers have their service people on the road, or will pick upthe tractor themselves if it needs to go into the shop.Just to note, I have over 120 hours on my TC29, and haven't needed service. Do myown oil, grease and filters, everything's pretty accessible and easy to work on. ....

I just bought a JD 790 with front end loader {JD} 72 inch rear discharge finnish mower {Land Pride} 72 inch rear blade {Land Pride} both the 15 series. I paid $15,800 for the package which I feel to be a fair price. Also included is at my home service or pick up and delivery for the live of the warrenty. Any body getting better or worse deals than this. I live in Southern Michigan. ....
